Latest Updates from Our Project:

Locking Backerkit Orders Friday!
almost 6 years ago – Tue, Jun 12, 2018 at 09:05:20 PM

We did hit a snag with our printer and have thankfully overcome that issue. Often completing a project is like running a ball for a touchdown through an entire defensive football team that want to stop you, but we are spinning around, jumping and pushing through these hurdles one by one.

Now we are close to production and shipping so please update any Backerkit orders with the items you would like to receive as rewards as we will be locking backerkit orders and charging credit accounts friday in order to get a good idea of production count numbers. Pre-orders will still be open if anyone wants to create a new order at a later date.

Thanks again for your continued interest and support with this project!

Quick update. Alt pose of the cat, with re-sculpts of the heads.
almost 6 years ago – Wed, May 30, 2018 at 05:06:21 PM

I sculpted Kas Khan for this project over a year ago, and as I have gotten better at sculpting, I have just hated the head on the original sculpt.  To that end, I have re-sculpted the head and made the alternate version of the cat for the other side of the throne.  Hope you all approve.

We are currently waiting for a new bulb for the 3-d printer unit, but we have the final prints for 80% of the project, and all of the designs are completed and ready for final print.

As always, thanks for your continued patience with Effincool Miniatures.  I know this has been a slow one for all of you.

May Update
almost 6 years ago – Mon, May 14, 2018 at 12:29:08 AM

Hello backers.  It has been a minute since I updated here.  Just to let you all know we are shooting to have the production molds for the early pledge groups all completed by next week.  We have run into a few casting issues with how some of the first pieces were designed so it has been a bit of a trial and error.  We have most of the pieces ironed out at this point, so I dont anticipate any more hiccups.

Effincool Miniatures was started as purely hobby for Felipe and me, but somewhere along the line it grew into a proper business with bills and whatnot.  There has primarily just been he and I to sculpt mold cast and manage things. Being a small company means that we have had to take on more outside casting work for other companies than we would actually like to have to do. This has left us both burning the candle at both ends to not only keep pushing forward on our projects but to get more paying work together to help keep the doors open.

Three weeks ago Felipe and I sat down with a very good friend of ours to talk business.  Ed Cortez  has 25 years of manufacturing and production streamlining for a major international corporation.  After consulting with him about how to better operate our business and utilize the skills that we have, Ed proposed partnering in with Effincool Miniatures.  We very excitedly accepted, as Ed's resume is pretty impressive.  In the 3 short weeks that Ed has been partnered and working at the shop each day after his "day job", he has managed to get all of our projects back on track and a production schedule set in place for all of our outstanding open projects.

As I said earlier, I should be able to have the early pledge groups ready to start final casting next week.  There is still 1 sculpt, the alternat pose of Kas Khan that needs to be finished up, but I have jyust not had a minute to sculpt it.  With all of the help we ar enow getting, I will try to get that knocked out this week.  That means we will be closing out the pledge manager pretty soon, so if there are things you want to add, please make sure you do it now!  ;-)

Thanks for your continued patience

No Carts Before Camels (or war chickens for that matter)
about 6 years ago – Thu, Mar 29, 2018 at 04:33:48 PM

Hey Gang,

A lot of you have expressed interest in further Kickstarters based on this world that we are creating.  We will be doing that (probably sooner than you might think) as soon as we start shipping orders for this Kickstarter.  There is still a lot of work to do, and as of now my sole sculpting time is dedicated to this project and RPG Crate where I sculpt a new miniature for them each month that we cast.

Having said all of that, I have decided that sculpting this whole project was a great lesson in time management, and as such I have enlisted some other top notch digital sculptors to start working on ideas for the follow up KS.  This morning, one of those sculptors turned in the WIPs for a few of the ideas, and I just could not wait.  I repositioned Guard #1 from this project and rendered it out on top of one of these other sculpts.  Plese let me know if you like the direction so far.

Also please understand that I did not sculpt this piece, so I am not actively sculpting for the follow up project before this project is done.  :-)

As the month comes to a close.

Hello Gang

Aside from a few touch ups, I have "finished" the male slaves.  These slaves are meant to represent captive males from 3 of the surrounding kingdoms.  I tried to do my best to give them each a bit of a unique look.  Hope you all like the results.  The individual renders should be up on Backerkit in the next day or so.

As far as the printing and casting is concerned, I have 3/4 of the pieces final printed and ready for master molding.  I am hoping to have the rest of them done before the weekend is out.  When I get them all printed, I will take a few photos of all of the pieces.  :-)

Thanks for your patience and support!
