Water Bearer Work in Progress
over 6 years ago – Mon, Aug 21, 2017 at 08:27:24 PM

I finally got some free time this evening to get some work moving on Court of the Sultana.  I am just not getting the time that I need blocked out for sculpting.  Seems like everything I start gets interrupted with employees at the restaurant quitting or not showing up.  Enough of my whining though.  Here is where the sculpt for the Water Bearer is headed.  I am also working on the Lounging Hetaira at the same time, so she should be in good shape in the next 2 days.  Hope this work in progress helps whet your appetites for a bit!  :-)

As always, thanks for your continued patience with this project!

Concepts
over 6 years ago – Wed, Jul 12, 2017 at 06:57:56 PM

Greetings All!!   Hope this update finds you all in good health and spirits.   The 4th of July means a lot of stress and long hours at the restaurant, but now that it is passed I can devote a lot more time to sculpting!   I have some of the concept art pieces from Jay A DeFoy, so I though I would share them with you today.   These are however concepts, and subject to change.  Jay is not a miniature designer by trade, so sometimes he draws things that will just not work on a 32mm scaled minaiture, so what I am showing will look slightly different in the finished sculpts!  We hope that you all enjoy the look of these costumes.  :-)

Backerkit going live!
almost 7 years ago – Fri, Jun 23, 2017 at 02:47:20 PM

Hello gang!!!

I have requested the Backerkit survey to go live and they will respond in 48 hours, after which I will be able to send out your surveys. We will update the images there with new concept images and test casts as they become available. We will also post updates here as those images become available. We plan to lock Surveys in October when we plan to begin deliveries.

The PRE-ORDER button is now active on this Kickstarter Project to show the pre-order screen in backerkit for anyone interested or anyone who missed the Kickstarter.

Sorry my communication has dipped, but I did anticipate a slow progress.  That is the reason we have an October delivery date. My restaurant demands much time in the summer, and getting a good crew to stick is challenging. Please be assured I am working from day to night everyday to fulfill all my obligations. On that note, we have one last figure to create for the Kobold Press Project before we lock those orders. If you want to see more about that Kickstarter follow the link provided:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/497254986/kobold-press-bestiary-a-collection-of-fantasy-mini/description

As soon as that is fulfilled Court of Sultana goes to the top of the Big Projects list!  We still produce miniatures for RPG Crate every month, but we have obtained a bit of help with those obligations, so we are still optimistic that we will ship in October.  Hope this update finds you all in good spirits, and I am as excited as you to get more forward progress on this as soon as other obligations are fulfilled!! :-)

Look for a couple quick updates showing some of the costume concepts that have been drawn out by Jay A DeFoy.  These are just concepts and subject to change in the final sculpts, so as always if you all want to have some input into the design, we are still listening over in the comments section.

Thanks again for all of your patience!

New printer has arrived
almost 7 years ago – Mon, Apr 24, 2017 at 12:23:26 AM

Just a quick update today gang.  One of the things that the funding on this project allowed for us, was the ability to justify purchasing an even better printer.  What this means for you, is that the miniatures that you get will be printed on the top of the line, most current technology available printer.   The detail on our older printer was very good, and we were not displeased with it, but this new printer has blown our minds!!

The sculpting is coming along, but I am working on 5 pieces at once, so there is not a lot of sense showing you all the work in progress shots.  I would rather wait until I have a bunch done!!

Thanks again!!

John
